As the end of 2018 quickly approaches, it is important for us to reflect on the past year before we ring in the New Year. This past weekend, my wife, kids, and I spent the weekend with my brother in law in Maryland. As we were making our drive home last night we were going through old CDs as we were traveling through the mountains of western Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. As some of those older songs were playing, it ushered in some old memories. Its crazy how those songs brought us back to different places in our journey through our relationship together and through life. That got me thinking about how quick time goes and how important it is to slow down and remember the aspects of life that got us to where we are today. In this fast paced life, we often get caught up in what the future holds for us and don’t always take the time to appreciate the history of our lives. For many of us, the past is not something that we want to reflect on, but it can also help to make us better people in the future. Sometimes we worry too much about the future and we can often lose sight of what has made us who we are. As 2019 quickly approaches, I challenge all of us to reflect on the past for just a bit before we look to the future. If we take a little time to reflect, we might just stir up some aspects of our past that may make 2019 better for you and for the people around you. With that said, we would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and may the best years of our lives prevail.
